Shipping is almost always done within 48 hours of receipt of payment. We make no money on shipping or handling. Buyer usually pays actual shipping costs. With small items we may occasionally estimate shipping, but the rate will never vary from the actual cost by more than a few dollars.
In most cases there is no fee for packing material. Ocasionally, however, with very large pieces it may be necessary to purchase a special box. In this situation the buyer will be charged for the box only, and will be notified of the additional charge when the shipping cost is given. Unless buyer requests otherwise, we generally ship Priority Mail, however if a package is extremely large or heavy, we may ship UPS ground. We make every effort to keep shipping costs as low as possible.
Buyer must pay for insurance. We cannot be responsible for lost or damaged items. We go to great lengths to pack each item for maximum safety, haven't lost one yet. However, if an item is damaged during shipping it is the responsibility of the buyer to obtain the insurance receipt from us and to file a claim with UPS or the post office, or whatever carrier handled the item.
We do run all electrical items for at least a day or two to make sure that they are working properly before they leave here, however all items that are mechanical or electrical come with a caveat: these vintage items are delicate, and sometimes they just stop working. Also, shipping can be brutal! Even if a piece is in perfect working condition when it leaves here, we cannot guarantee that it will arrive in the same working condition. Therefore, at no time is continued working condition guaranteed.
If you wish to pay by credit card, we accept all major credit cards only through PayPal. You don't have to be a PayPal member to use this option.
