This is a beautiful 1933 "Century of Progress" Chicago World's Fair lamp.
These lamps are very difficult to find these days, especially with the original finish.
They're even more difficult to find with the correct shade size! Most people put in a larger or smaller
shade, and it never looks quite right. Does have a few factory imperfections (as pictured). These small
holes are from poor casting, but they are quite small and extremely common with these lamps. It's hard to
find one without them. They're not very noticeable because of size and location. Otherwise the lamp is in
very good condition, no other cracks or damage. The amber crackle shade is also in very good condition
with great, deep crackling. As usual there's only the expected rim fitter roughness. The lamp is a model
of the original Travel and Transportation building. The detail is beautifully done, and the overall effect
is stunning! |
